"If there’s a world here in a hundred years, it’s going to be saved by tens of millions of little things. The powers-that-be can break up any big thing they want. They can corrupt it or co-opt it from the inside, or they can attack it from the outside. But what are they going to do about 10 million little things? They break up two of them, and three more like them spring up!"

Kept My Mouth Shut

The project:
For one whole day, didn't try to direct my child in her choice of dress or activities.

Time:
All day, kind of.

Why bother?
Today is her birthday. She had a plan going into it, but when the day arrived, she altered her plan. Rather than say, "I thought you wanted to..." I let it go. What difference does it make what she planned? She was happily going about her birthday in her own style. Speaking of which, when it came time for lunch, she opted to dress up and head out. Interestingly, however, this girl who wears dress shoes with jeans to play in the park chose tennis shoes to wear with a fancy dress to go out to dinner. It was tough not to question the decision out of MERE CURIOSITY!

Worth it?
Absolutely. This is something I need to do more often, anyhow.
