"If there’s a world here in a hundred years, it’s going to be saved by tens of millions of little things. The powers-that-be can break up any big thing they want. They can corrupt it or co-opt it from the inside, or they can attack it from the outside. But what are they going to do about 10 million little things? They break up two of them, and three more like them spring up!"

Made Room for a School Bus

The project:
Waved a school bus into my lane.

Time:
Seconds

Why bother?
The bus was trying to shift lanes in heavy traffic. The driver had signaled, but when she saw me in the lane, turned off her signal to wait it out, I guess. I tapped on the brakes to make her a hole, then flashed my lights and waved her in. Driving a busload of kids around all day has to have its downsides. Nasty drivers in traffic shouldn't be among them. Plus, it took only seconds to give this driver a break.

Worth it?
Absolutely.
