"If there’s a world here in a hundred years, it’s going to be saved by tens of millions of little things. The powers-that-be can break up any big thing they want. They can corrupt it or co-opt it from the inside, or they can attack it from the outside. But what are they going to do about 10 million little things? They break up two of them, and three more like them spring up!"

Recycling - Good Deeds Revisited

The project:
Recycle our household aluminum, glass and plastic

Time:
15 minutes

Why bother?
It's good for the bottle, the can, and the girls wallets and savings accounts. Plus this, this and this, too.

Worth it?
The girls were thrilled with their 4 bucks (they keep the cash if they help with the recycling) plus we kept the stuff out of the landfill. Maybe someday this "trash to us" will be wheels for someone's bus, or playground equipment, or a bridge. Who knows?

At least it's not in my garage anymore!
